another entry in a blog that i'll bet nobody reads

Posted by BurningRiverStudio - April 25th, 2008

I'll be the first to admit that most of my own socializing takes place via the net or offline with folks i've met online, but there's an aspect to most "social networking" sites that i find quite strange (if not a wee bit creepy). Somebody must've read my mind and handed this guy a transcript:

Well, actually, it turns out that a number of people think this.

Comments

You do not post a lot on the BBS, so people do not really know you exist even though you have been here for quite a while.

If you post more, you will get more recognition and in turn, more comments.

Perhaps. My experience with the BBS is that putting more than a modicum of thought and effort into a post is a waste because some moderator decides that my post is a waste of pixels and removes it.

ill read this post oh ok i see whats going on here listen this is what you need to do stop worrying about that shit im on the computer a bit but when i get off i go hang out be cool got to party and im always standing out. Peace bro :3

Not worrying, exactly, just sometimes discouraged.

I noticed the title to this blog, which interested me.

Why not go the forums and socialize with other people? That way you'll get noticed more.

Also, don't ask how I stumbled across your profile.

I can guess.
Yer makin' me blush.
