nice graphics but arrow keys aren't working

It really looks nice but either the directions in the tutorial need to be expanded or the actionscript is faulty because "shift rows" suggests using the arrow keys but the game is not responding to my arrow keys. Trying to use the mouse to drag rows doesn't work, either.

ivicaa responds:

I am sorry for the confusion. The game is played with the mouse only. You shift rows by clicking right/left of the whole structure. I hope you give it another try.

needs work

Not in the least clear how to dump a tile one has incorrectly selected. Very frustrating to try to get rid of the wrong tile. At least the graphics are easy on the eyes- some majong games are a literal eyesore.

zygomaticgames responds:

If you look at the help section of the game, there is a visual help on how to discard wrong tiles! I also explained it in the comments below the game.

suggestion

I like it. It would be nice if it was more like the MS version. That is, it would be nice to have the option to put down a flag on a square if the player thinks it has a mine.

tommyishere4me responds:

You can do that by pressing Space. When you press Space the first time on a node you flag it as a mine, the second time you press you flag it as a suspect mine and the third time you reset the node. Check the instructions ;) .

sound suggestion

Bad sound does detract from an otherwise nice flash. Put the following code on buttons that select incorrect answers:

on(release) {
stopAllSounds();
}
(as well as other commands you already have on the buttons)

Glazed12Donuts responds:

Thanks. how do i re-open my flash?

graphics are nice, true

I'd agree with the previous reviewer, though, that it isn't necessary to have the intro up for quite so long.

I'll try the code for having a sound play when a button is pressed.
Thanks.

Lockdude responds:

Thanks, for your review, I'll take the "A Lockdue Production" thing into mind for my next flash, thanks for being honest.

nice, but...

the actionscript needs some fine tuning.
For instance, the head's y-scale can be increased to the
point that it potentially blocks access to the button that
decreases it, so if the player wants to make it smaller he's out
of luck. The script should be changed so that the changed
head doesn't block the buttons, or else the buttons should
be moved to a place where they won't be blocked.

Crusty-Wiwuh responds:

That's not a problem with actionscript, I just needed to put the buttons on a layer higher than the guy's head, which I have now done and updated the file. Thankyou for the review.

ok

Nice pictures, nice change of pace from the badly drawn gore often
seen in the portal, but it would be nicer if a person could do more
than simply look around. Also, the script that links the mouse
movement to the movement of the picture (to give the sensation
of looking around) is the exact opposite of what one would expect.
If i send the mouse cursor to the top of the stage, i expect to have
the picture move in a way that suggests i'm looking UP, not down.
Likewise, when i move the cursor to the right, it would be more
natural to have the game make the scene shift as if one is looking
to the right, not to the left.

But other than that, there doesn't appear to be any other bugs.

A60 responds:

thanks.

yeah, I know, I couldn't be bothered to fix it so it went the right way.

i've heard differently

According to a professional magician i know,
Houdini collapsed on stage while performing a
trick called 'six chicks'. To make things more
dramatic, he's often portrayed as dying while
performing his water torture chamber trick while
in a straitjacket.

Slightly-Crazy-Dude responds:

I know that he died on stage performing the water tank, thats what i heard but that would have been too boring too do...so i put a little ditty of action into it too spruce it up, but it didnt work.

OK, but...

...the text is very hard to read.

123456789qwerty responds:

so? Thx for the review

a suggestion

Include a pair of ballet shoes, if you don't
think that's too much associated with the
fetish scene. Maybe give her a flourescent green
stick to hold instead of the lollipop (choice
between stick and candy).

This is one of the better dressup games i've
seen on NG.

Ravertyke responds:

As far as the fetish thing, I was kinda going in that direction when i made it. But, What is the significance of the green stick? sorry
