Overall, the flash could be improved by making it longer so as to
more fully express/clarify the idea(s) behind it. Suicide is a
complcated issue.

It's overly simplistic to say that suicide is either an act of courage
or "the coward's way out". Death is inevitable, yes, but since
nobody can really prove what, if anything, is waiting beyond the
grave, it's not really prudent to suicide unless one is quite certain
that all the other options are unacceptable. It's not a question of
being stronger than everyone else but whether a person believes
hir own life is worth continuing or not. As near as i can tell, folks
who say suicide is a sign of weakness have never actually
experienced the ambivalence of being strongly suicidal, and so
they don't really understand the resolve that's required to actually
go through with it.

If i were to attempt to improve upon this flash,
i'd try to convey the strong ambivalence that a suicidal person
feels both before and sometime even during the process of
dying. You've expressed the hope that there is something better
beyond life, but without expressing the conflict that led up to
someone killing hirself, it's very hard to avoid giving the overall
impression that this is a glorification of the event. If we really
are the captains of our own fates, then it is as much our
perogative to suicide as to carry on with life, but that does not
make suicide an especially happy thing. Know what i'm saying?

It states that the start of the contest was
03feb04 and that the contest ended 06feb04.
06Feb04 was two days ago, so why is this being
submitted today?

there were 2 groups. group a and group b. this is group b. everyone had to have their stuff done by the 6th. the 7th was spent putting it together. group a was submitted yesterday, group b went today.

are the dates really even that important?

it's really too bad

You were doing fine...damn but i was going to
give you a five...until tricky the clown was
plopped down there at the end. If you want
to make a serious flash movie, then make a
serious flash movie. If you want to
make a joke flash instead, fine. But such an
abrupt, crude transition from 'serious'
to 'joke' comes across as a copout, as if you
couldn't figure out how to finish a serious flash
so you slapped a clown in at the end because you
had to use up a given amount of time.

I wasn't aiming to make a serious flash movie. It was intended as a tribute to N by Orange Clock, as well as aiming to create an element of surprise to the viewer. Shut the fuck up.

button problem

After viewing the movie, rolling over 'the end'
shows a message that indicates that clicking
returns the viewer to the main menu, but clicking
the button doesn't do anything.
